Curating也分为理论课程和设计实务课程。无论哪种，都是给有美术功底，美学研究，懂得设计和布展的同学开设的。理论课程的话，侧重研究美学理论与赏析，雅思要求较高，一般为7分，单项小分是6。试想需要完成一年的硕士理论课程的话，这种专业对雅思要求高是应当的。理论课程不需要作品集。但是申请过程中需要有essay提交。题目根据大学的课程设置范围有所不同。
例如：爱丁堡大学（University of Edinburgh) 要求：Writing sample - for Taught degrees this is a 2000 word essay on History of Art 推荐信必须要原件快递，不承认电子扫描件。
埃塞克斯大学（University of Essex）要求：there is a serious concern about the extent of your knowledge of contemporary art and theory. in order to further consider your application we would like you to write a short essay (ca. 1500 words) considering the following question: what are the challenges for the curation of contemporary art today?
第二种设计实务课程的话，设计作品就是必修的了。我今年申请成功的Miss LI 做了详细和广泛的作品提交。雅思要求没有理论课程那么高，总分6.5分，单项小分5.5分即可。另外，interview环节却是必须的了。
例如：金斯顿大学（Kingston University）要求：interview：We would like to arrange an opportunity for you to talk to a Chinese student currently on the course in Mandarin and to discuss in more detail if the course is suitable for you with a member of staff on the course. We would like to ask you what your careers plan are as a curator and how the experience of the course and study in London will support your career ambitions.
Miss LI 是山东工艺美院，工业设计（展示）专业本科毕业生，应届，GPA 85%以上。有作品，无雅思
